Gazebos Are Building Excitement

by Kathy Moran

So, you’ve finally ordered the gazebo that you’ve always wanted. As you await its arrival, you’re planning on how and when you’re going to construct it. Perhaps you have a friend or two who will help you after work; or, maybe your brother-in-law will come over to help you on a weekend, and it will cost you only a case of beer. Either way, you may be concerned about how long it will take to complete the project.
Yard Butler Store Of course, if you ordered your gazebo from GazeboCreations.com, you don’t have anything to worry about, because all of their gazebos are shipped partially assembled, in easy-to-build kits. In most cases, using only a screw gun, a level, and a hammer, you should be able to assemble most gazebos in an afternoon, or, with some of the larger, double-roof models, over the weekend.
With the question about your building skills out of the way, what else do you have to think about? If you have a lot of flowers and plants, or extensive, expensive landscaping, you may be worried about destroying it during construction. Once again, because of the ease with which you will be able to assemble your kit, you probably don’t have too much cause for concern.
On the other hand, it’s always best to be prepared, especially if your helpers don’t have a clue – or a care – about how many blue ribbons your rosebush has won. Naturally, the best way is to do your landscaping around the gazebo, but, more often than not, the garden is there first. Therefore, at the outset of the project, you should make everyone aware of your prized plants and flowers. Even if some of the grass gets abused, there’s no reason to sacrifice your award-winning roses.
Actually, your grass doesn’t have to suffer that much, either, as long as you designate a pathway with stakes and string. You can also use plywood for temporary walkways to help distribute weight evenly and prevent furrows in your lawn. Take the plywood off as soon as the gazebo is finished, so it won’t destroy the grass. If the project goes on for more than one day, take it off in the evening, so the grass can breathe. After construction is over, water the grass thoroughly, and go over the area with a heavy-duty industrial magnet a few times to pick up any nails or other hardware, so that you don’t step on it, or run over it with your lawn mower.
